Terry and Kathy Campbell were set apart as missionaries on Sunday, July 20, 2008. The next day, July 21, they reported to Provo, UT at the Mission Training Center as full-time missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were immediately thrown into lessons that will prepare them for the next 1 1/2 years!
"It is a spiritual feast here." Kathy reported to me in an email two days ago.
Terry is also happy to report that they do have Coca Cola at the training center, but it is Caffeine free! But who wants to drink it without the caffeine? :) 
Jason and I helped them get their luggage into their room, then we walked around and took a few pictures. By the way, we got there in plenty of time. We just did not realize that they needed to register then visit. So, we spent time with them, then we found out that they needed to get down to registration, so we had to say our quick goodbyes. (I note that if we would have registered them first, we would not have been rushed). But it might have been for the better. It was a "clean break."
There was almost some misty eyes on my part, but I stuck it out, and told them they would be great!
Jason and I then left the training center in search of a service station that repairs brakes. That is right, by the time we got to Provo, the break pads had worn themselves out to the point that we couldn't go home with out fixing them unless we wanted to pay a good $200 extra.
That is our story and we are sticking to it! We will miss mom and dad, but we know that they were called of God to serve the people in Ireland!

Dad and Mom if you see this you guys looks very cute and happy. I am glad you are doing this...and making the sacrifice to go. Sacrifice brings blessings. You will have the best time ever!!

This is funny (about "there's coke here in the MTC") because when Amber & I went down to Provo on Saturday (26th) to do the temple & go to dinner, we went to The Spaghetti Factory (Dad's choice!) and he promptly asked, "do you have caffeine-free coke?" Too bad that they didn't (as he settled for a rootbeer; mom got raspberry lemonade) have it, but I proudly requested of our waiter: "diet coke, please!"
We had fun, enjoyed our last supper (if you will) w/ mom & dad. You should've seen how dad was running around & talking fast and excited about all the things they've done & learned at the MTC (the short one-week visit, that it was) and mom told us of all the people they'd met, their stories & where they were going. We love you mom & dad!
